The undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour (MoL) has said that the country appreciates "all efforts made by the labourers who have contributed in the rise of our nation in all fields.” Mubarak Saed Al Dhaheri said this while officiating the conclusion of the International Labour Day special events in Abu Dhabi. "Our workers are the pulse of our businesses,” he said, noting, "promoting such events represents our keenness lead by our wise leaders to ensure labour rights and preserve human dignity.” He added that the Labour Minister, Saqr Ghobash, considers "labourers as the core and most integral part of the UAE's development.” He added that this year's events, which were organised by the Ministry of Labour to celebrate the annual International Labour Day, has enjoyed the participation of more than 22,000 workers from all labour categories across the UAE. "Such events come as part of several initiatives adopted by the ministry to strengthen labour rights protection and as a commitment by the ministry to implement its mission of regulating the labour market.” Al Dhaheri singled out 31 "strategic public and private sector partners, who made this year's events incredible through their excellent contribution.” Among these entities were Adnoc Distribution Centre, Khalifa Police Station, UAE Football Association, Abu Dhabi's Social Support Police Dept., Knowledge and Human Development Authority, the National Company for Trade and Development, Dubai Police, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Civil Defence and the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai. Others were Emirates Post, Sharjah Police, the Ministry of (Culture, Youth and Community Development), Umm Al Qaiwain Social Support Police Dept., and Dubai Holdings Group, in addition to Khalidiya Mall, Al Mushrif Mall, ICAD Labour Camps City, Al Raha International Inc., Pro League Committee, Brookfield Multiplex, Etihad Construction and Investment (Ascon), Dutco Group of Companies, Al Futtaim Group, Safa Dairy, Coca-Cola, Red Crescent, Jewellery millibars, Indian Society, Kawthar fresh water, Ibn Sina Clinics.
