Transport Minister Hesham Arafat on Monday witnessed the signing ceremony of a € 290 million financing protocol between the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
The protocol covers the purchase of 100 locomotives.
Arafat said the new locomotives will contribute to improving the ENR services.
For her part, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said the ministry is keen to act quickly to support the Ministry of Transport's strategy to develop its networks.
