Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Qabil on Monday held discussions with the German minister of state at the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy on the future of economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of trade and industry.
They discussed means of boosting trilateral cooperation in the African continent as well as capitalizing on its massive investment and trade opportunities.
The meeting tackled the key aspects of economic and trade relations binding Egypt and Germany.
The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and stood at Euro 5.5 billion in 2016, Qabil said.
German companies have major opportunities to invest in Egypt's mega national projects, topped by the Golden Triangle project, the project of 1.5 million feddans, the new administrative capital and the development of Suez Canal axis, Qabil added.
The Egyptian minister pointed out to the importance of bolstering Egyptian-German cooperation in the industrial filed, particularly in the automotive manufacturing and communication technology.
Meanwhile, Qabil underscored the necessity of benefiting from the German know-how in the sphere of training technical cadres and establishing joint projects.
