Provincial officials of Indian Punjab province said they plan to export rice and rice paddy to Iran.Speaking in a joint press conference with Iran\'s former Vice-President and present Deputy to the First-Vice President Mohammad Aliabadi on Wednesday, Punjab\'s Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the Indian government was thinking about exporting basmati and paddy 1121 variety to Iran. \"For this purpose, it has requested the Center to allow export to Iran through the land route of Attari border,\" he added. Badal told mediapersons that during his recent visit to Iran, he came to know that there was a great demand for basmati and paddy 1,121 variety of rice in the country. This year, basmati growers in Punjab had received lower market rates, he added. Iran\'s Aliabadi, for his part, said Iran and India were focusing on improving mutual ties, and added that he has invited the Indian Government to sign an MoU with Iran in the field of sports. According to the pact, while Iran will send wrestling and football coaches to India, India will provide coaching experts in kabaddi.
