Vazquez commended his first ever visit to Egypt, being the first state visit by a Uruguayan president since the establishment of bilateral relations in 1932.
The Uruguayan president said his current visit to Cairo will boost bilateral ties, particularly in the cultural and trade fields between Uruguay and Egypt on one side, and Africa on the other.
The Uruguayan leader noted that he agreed with President Sisi to implement the free trade agreement between Egypt and the Mercosur bloc of Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay with the aim of promoting economic, trade and investment relations between Egypt and the South American countries.
Vazquez called on the Egyptian companies and businessmen to hold direct meetings with their Uruguayan peers to mull increasing cooperation between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Vazquez said his country welcomes the Egyptian investments, noting that the investors will find a suitable environment for investment. 
He invited Sisi to pay an official visit to Uruguay.
