Cairo - WAM
Head of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) Sherif Samy said Tuesday the Egyptian expats and foreigners would be allowed to open accounts with companies operating in securities via proxies verified by Egyptian bodies concerned abroad or through their places of residence.
The amendments came in the framework of periodic consultation with various parties operating in the capital market, Samy added.
The EFSA head said that a previous decision was preventing securities companies from dealing with customers via proxies but only through direct contact with customers.
