The Egyptian Exchange closed this week with losses amounting to EGP 8.5 billion.

The market capital hit EGP 689 billion compared to EGP 697.5 billion in the previous week.

During the course of the week, the benchmark index EGX 30 went down by 1.47 percent to reach 12,926 points, said a weekly report issued by the Egyptian Exchange.

The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) went down by 0.85 percent to reach 691 points.

The all-embracing EGX 100 index declined 1.16 percent, taking the index to 1,555 points.
