European stocks rose sharply on Monday with Frankfurt's DAX index of leading shares up 2.87 percent to 5,345.56 points. In London, the FTSE-100 index closed up 0.45 at 5,089.37 points, while in Paris the CAC 40 gained 1.75 percent to 2,859.34 points. Milan jumped 3.32 percent.
