Indian main stock index Sensex opened at 15,739.05 points Thursday 142.09 points or 0.89 percent lower from previous close of 15,881.14 on losses of global stock markets. Metal, consumer durables, capital goods and automobile sector lost 1.6 percent, 1.55 percent, 1.48 percent and 1.41 percent, respectively. Telecom operator Bharti Airtel, aluminum refiner Hindalco, automobile maker Maruti Suzuki and copper miner Sterlite Industries dropped 2.72 percent, 2.44 percent, 2.32 percent and 2. 21 percent.
