Nikkei plunged at the opening Wednesday, with the benchmark index hitting the lowest level in about two months on renewed fears about the eurozone sovereign debt crisis. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 120.42 points, or 1.26%, from Tuesday to 9,417. 60, its lowest intraday mark since Feb. 17. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange shed 10.30 points, or 1.27%, to 803.13.
