The Singapore stock market finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 28.55 points, or 1.06 percent, to close at 2,719.83. A total of 856.5 million shares changed hands with turnover of 921.4 million Singapore dollars (714.3 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers 241 to 95, while 443 others finished unchanged. The STI index lost 24.31 points, or 0.9 percent, to close at 2, 691.28 on Monday.
