Tokyo stocks closed a touch higher Wednesday, with the Nikkei Stock Average finishing at 8,772.54, up 30.63 points, or 0.35%. In early trade, a broad range of issues, including exporters, opened higher, helped by a sharp overnight rise on Wall Street. But the Nikkei Stock Average lost upward momentum when a lack of domestic buying incentives prompted investors to sell off stocks on the rebound.
