As many as 39 ships transited the Suez Canal on Tuesday, with a total cargo of 3.4 million tons.

The north-bound convoy included 23 ships laden with about two million tons while the south-bound convoy included 16 vessels carrying 1.4 million tons, according to statistics of the Suez Canal Authority.
