Forty-seven ships transited the Suez Canal on Wednesday with a cargo of around 2.9 million tons.

The south-bound convoy included 21 vessels carrying around 1.2 million tons, while the north-bound convoy included 26 ships laden with about 1.7 million tons, according to statistics of the Suez Canal Authority.
