Forty-nine ships transited the Suez Canal on Wednesday, with a total cargo of three million tons.
The south-bound convoy included 29 vessels carrying around 1.6 million tons, while the north-bound convoy included 20 ships laden with about 1.4 million tons, according to statistics of the Suez Canal Authority.
