Egypt's Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabeel

Egypt's Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabeel signed a trade agreement with his counterpart of Gabon to promote trade and economic relations as part of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to the African country.

The accord comes within the framework of Egypt's openness to the African continent and its keenness to boost its ties with the continent's countries at all levels, particularly the economic and economic domains, Qabeel said in a press release.

"Cairo pays great attention by establishing bridges of economic cooperation with all African states with a view to achieving a leap at the level of commercial and investment relations," said the minister.

By virtue of the signed agreement, a joint commercial committee will be formed to facilitate the implementation of the accord and mull ways to promote trade relations, he noted.

The panel will be co-chaired by the trade ministers or their deputies. It will comprise senior officials and representatives of ministries and the private sector.

The agreements is also meant to encourage and increase trade exchange and to enhance cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry in Egypt and Gabon, said Qabeel.
