A gold shipment weighing 569.890 kilograms arrived at the Cairo Airport\'s Cargo Village from the Sukari gold mine in Marsa Alam, run by the Centamin Company, on Wednesday. The gold is being transported abroad to be purified and sold at world bourses. The shipment arrived on board of Alkan Air flight amid tight security. The Centamin Company signed a contract with the Egyptian government in 2004 whereby it was granted the right to exploit the mine for 30 years. Also, under the agreement, the company, represented by an Egyptian citizen who holds an Australian nationality, owns 50\\% of the total amount of gold excavated, while Egypt owns the remaining 50\\%.
