The United States said Thursday it backs sanctions against the Central Bank of Iran, "appropriately timed," to curb Iran's nuclear ambitions. The under secretary of state for political affairs, Wendy Sherman, told a Senate hearing that Washington supports "properly designed and well targeted sanctions against the Central Bank of Iran, appropriately timed" as part of policy against Iran.
