The United States on Friday pledged a further 8 million dollars in humanitarian aid to the Syrian people, the State Department said. The additional funding, announced in Geneva, brings the total amount of US humanitarian aid to 33 million dollars. The money will be channeled through UN aid agencies and major non-governmental organizations to refugees in neighbouring countries and to internally displaced people within Syria, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.
