Julia Roberts and husband Danny Moder will be honored at the 2014 GLSEN Respect Awards ceremony.
The 46-year-old actress and 45-year-old cameraman will receive humanitarian awards in recognition of their continued philanthropic work. Roberts and Moder support GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network), UNICEF, Heal the Bay, Stand Up to Cancer and the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves. The couple are nominated for Emmys for their work on HBO film The Normal Heart, which depicts the rise of the AIDS crisis in the 1980s.
"We are proud to recognize Danny Moder and Julia Roberts, whose inspiring work on HBO's The Normal Heart has brought renewed attention to an important moment -- and an ongoing crisis -- in LGBT and American history," GLSEN executive director Eliza Byard said in a statement.
Producer and NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt will also be honored for his work as an openly-gay executive, and Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Derek Hough will be recognized for his anti-bullying efforts.
The 2014 GLSEN Respect Awards are scheduled for October 17.
