Pakistani condemns US drone strikes in its territory

The Government of Pakistan on Thursday condemned the two incidents of United States drone strike that took place near Miranshah in North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan on 11 and 12 June, said Foreign Office.
According to a press release by Pakistan Foreign Office, these strikes are a violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity adding that these strikes have a negative impact on the Government's efforts to bring peace and stability in Pakistan and the region.
Earlier during press briefing, the Foreign Office spokesperson, Taseem Aslam said that Pakistan's position on drones is very clear.
The drone strikes are very unpopular in Pakistan and Foreign Office has raised concerns over the drone strikes with the US administration and at the United Nations previously. Pakistan maintained the stance that drone attacks are counter-productive, entail loss of innocent civilian lives and have human rights and humanitarian implications.
According to media reports, two successive US drone strikes killed at least 16 suspected militants in Pakistan's northwest tribal area early on Thursday, few days after a deadly attack on an airport of the largest Pakistani city Karachi that killed 38 people including ten militants
