Baghdad - MENA
As many as nine people were killed on Thursday in Iraq after a car bomb went off in a police checkpoint in Baquba city of Diyala province, eastern the country.
The explosion also wounded eleven people, medical sources said.
Baquba is the capital of the restive and religiously mixed province of Diyala, where Kurdish peshmerga, federal forces and allied militia have been battling the Daesh militant group.
According to the United Nations, more than 1,110 people were killed in acts of violence across Iraq last month.
