The Iraqi Joint Operations Command denied Tuesday claims that US troops were operating in the country to fight against Daesh militants.

In a statement, the command also denied reports on freezing military operations of the army and the Popular Mobilization Forces against the terrorist group in Anbar province.

All battles against Daesh take place under Iraqi leadership, the command reiterated.

Earlier in the day, news reports said that a US force arrived in Iraq in preparation for a decisive battle against Daesh.
