Algerian singer Souad Massi

In two concerts organised by the music production house Sawt Music, Souad Massi will perform at the Open Air theatre of Bibiliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria and Sawt Music headquarters in Cairo.

Massi has been very popular with her music in Egypt, with her soulful unique vocals, poetic lyrics and swaying rhythms ranging from simple to rich melodies.

Based in Paris, the Algerian siren remains faithful to her language and Arab roots yet merges influences from other cultures and genres like Spanish flamenco, African instruments, American folk rock.

Her first album hit with wide popularity, Raoui in 2001, features many of her iconic songs such as Gher Enta and Matebkiche. Massi’s latest studio album was produced in 2010, titled Ô Houria.

Sawt Music is an Egyptian production and management house, established in 2013 with an aim to present the available diversity on the independent music scene.

With an ambition to revive Egypt as the hub for Arab cultural exchange, Sawt Music scouts for fresh talent and promotes current ones.
