An Italian plane laden with humanitarian assistance to be provided to the Syrian refugees in Jordan arrived in the kingdom Saturday, the state-run Petra news agency reported. The plane, carrying about 2,000 blankets, 100 tents, eight power generators among other materials, is the third that Italy sends to Syrian refugees in Jordan over the past three months. The assistance seeks to reduce the pressure that Jordan faces in serving the Syrian refugees, according to Jordanian officials, who said the aid will be distributed to Zaatari refugee camp, home to over 48,000 Syrian refugees. Italy has also recently sent a medical field hospital to treat Syrian refugees at the camp.
