Militants from the Idlib deesclation zone in Syria have shelled the province of Latakia and western outskirts of the city of Aleppo over the last 24 hours, head of the Russian center for reconciliation of conflicting sides Gen. Lt. Vladimir Savchenko told reporters on Saturday.

"Despite the established ceasefire regime, illegal armed groups operating in the Idlib deescalation zone continue violations. Over the last 24 hours, shellings were registered in the Roys Usleiman settlement in the province of Latakia and in the western outskirts of the city of Aleppo," Savchenko said.

He reported that servicemen from the Russian reconciliation center did not hold anu humanitarian operations over the last 24 hours, but they have held 1,969 humanitarian operations since the start of the reconciliation process. The cumulative weight of humanitarian cargoes reached around 3,080 tonnes. Savchenko also called on the commanders of illegal armed groups to stop provocations and to embark on the path of reconciliations in the areas under their control.
