Cannes must be the most glamorous event of the year and I'm always super excited to see all the different hair and makeup looks on the red carpet. This year in particular was a total glamour-fest and the Bollywood a-listers didn't disappoint! Here are some of the best beauty moments... Frieda Pinto If anyone knows how to work the red carpet it's Frieda. There was nothing particularly impressive about her dresses but I loved the simplicity and elegance of her hair and makeup. The tomato red lip was a nice change to the usual brighter tones you would see on the red carpet, and check out the pretty butterfly clips on the back of her low chignon. Sonam Kapoor Sonam Kapoor stole the show with this FIERCE makeup and hair! I love, love, love the deep berry red, paired with a really glam smokey gold cat eye. The nose ring caused a bit of controversy and a lot of people have been torn over whether it works or not, but I love it. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Aishwarya Rai is a Cannes regular and I'm so glad to see her back this year and looking even more beautiful than ever. In the past she's gone for a more edgy look for the red carpet but this year she's gone back to a smokey eye and nude lip combo. I love the big, bouncy curls. Sonam Kapoor (again) I tried really hard not make this post all about Sonam and I think I've done pretty well to whittle it down to just two beauty looks. Here Sonam's gone for a more glossy, dewy look. The peachy blush, fresh skin and light pink lips makes her look really youthful, and how impossibly glossy is her hair?! ....and some not so great beauty moments Frieda Pinto Is it just me or does Frieda look like the eighth member of S Club?! The glittery eye and brown, glossy lip are very reminiscent of the early noughties and at Cannes it looks a little tacky. Paired with a twisty up-do (does that actually suit anyone over the age of ten??) it just doesn't work - at all. Malika Sherawat I'm not sure what's going on here but Malika's foundation looks a little too light. Maybe it's the flash or maybe her MUA went a little too crazy with the concealer but her complexion looks off, which is a shame because she normally has the most beautiful naturally tanned complexion. The dark lip liner is also on another, horrific level. I just can't. Vidya Balan As expected Vidya went for her signature, traditional, Indian look. It had the potential to look really cool and edgy but for me it falls FLAT. A berry-toned lip or slightly less slicked back hairstyle would've taken this to another level.
