Chairman of Cairo Chamber of Commerce Ibrahim el Araby has praised a decision by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to establish a fund to sponsor innovators and build an Egyptian city for science and technology, believing it is an important step toward upgrading scientific thinking among youth.
Education and scientific research are among Sisi's top priorities, Araby said in a statement by the Chamber Tuesday.
He touched upon four innovation awards that are being offered in the fields of health, food, water and energy; all of which are sectors of big societal importance.
The private sector, in cooperation with the government, does play a big role in this respect, Araby acknowledged.
