The Arab Republic of Egypt has welcomed the signing of Jeddah Peace Agreement between Ethiopia and Eritrea, commending the efforts exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in patronizing the agreement in the presence of the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that the signing of the agreement represents an important development in the Horn of Africa as well as the whole continent, as it ends the dispute between the two countries which lasted for many years, pointing to Egypt's aspirations to strengthen the pillars of security, peace, and stability in the Horn of Africa for the benefit of peoples in the region.
