Egyptian Interior Minister, Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Tawfiq, discussed with the Secretary General of the Council of Arab Ministers of Interior Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman means of supporting and developing joint Arab security cooperation in various security fields.
During the meeting, the Egyptian minister stressed the effective coordinating role played by the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in strengthening the Arab security cooperation. He stressed the need for concerted Arab security efforts to counter the negative repercussions of the movements of terrorist elements in the region.
The Secretary General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers stressed the importance of the presence of the Ministry of the Interior in all meetings to contribute to the formulation of a unified Arab security vision to deal with the phenomenon of the spread of terrorism and extremist ideologies and modernize strategies to combat drug smuggling and illegal immigration.
