French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday declined to criticise the rights record of his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, saying he was in not in the business of giving "lessons".
"We do not give lessons without taking account of the context," Macron said at a press conference in Paris with visiting President al-Sisi, where he voiced support for Egypt's "fight against violent religious fundamentalism".
