Egypt entered a new phase of openness to the global markets and trade after endorsing the Trade Facilitation agreement, Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil said Saturday.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has ratified Egypt accession to the Trade Facilitation Agreement after the House of Representatives' approval.
It is the first multilateral trade agreement signed since the establishment of the World Trade Organization, Qabil said.
The minister said reaching the deal was the first outcome of the Doha Development Round, as it was represented a balanced agreement that met the interests of all countries regardless its growth rates.
The agreement aims at improving the governing measures and regulations of goods movement.
