The Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation will organize Africa 2017 conference on trade and investment in the continent and the World in cooperation with the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa's (COMESA) Regional Investment Agency.
Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said Sunday that the Egyptian political leadership is keen to achieve effective cooperation among African countries, in addition to sustainable development and attracting investment.
Nasr explained that the conference will serve as an opportunity to meet with policy makers, financial institutions and investors from Africa and all countries of the world to attract investment in strategic sectors.
She pointed out that Egypt represents an investment gateway to the African continent, adding that the conference is considered to be one of the most important investment group meeting, which is expected to contribute to boosting and promoting investment between the world and Africa through Egypt.
The conference will discuss various important issues, such as economic zones, cities and urban development, in addition to future generation and distribution of energy, the minister added.
Nasr also said that the conference will tackle long-term investment, agriculture, infrastructure, technology, as well as discussing reforms to business environment and cross-border trade and investment, especially among African countries.
A number of businessmen, including Egyptian and African ones, heads of state and government, as well as ministers from various African countries and representatives of Egypt's development partners will attend the conference.
The conference, which will be held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, will take place from December 7 through 9 in the city of Sharm El Sheikh in South Sinai.
