Egypt’s Chamber of Engineering Industries has drawn up a plan to open new markets for Egyptian products in Africa, said the Chamber's chairman, Mohamed el Mohandes.
In statements on Monday, Mohandes said that the plan focused on East and West African countries because of their great economic activity during this period.
The government's strategy aims at beefing up Egypt's exports to Africa by 2020 via focusing on the food, engineering, chemicals, construction materials and pharmaceutical sectors.
The volume of exports of these five sectors could be increased by 20 percent annually. It is expected to reach 3.158 billion dollars during the current year.
