As many as 49 ships transited the Suez Canal on Monday, with a total cargo of 2.5 million tons.

The south-bound convoy included 24 ships laden with about 1.1 million tons topped by the Marshall-Island-flagged container ship MOL TRIUMPH with a cargo reaching 218,000 tons, according to statistics of the Suez Canal Authority.

The north-bound convoy comprised 25 ships carrying about 1.1 million tons topped by Liberian container ship INGY with a cargo reached 200,000 tons.
