An annual business climate report has seen Egypt take a better position thanks to an improvement in EGX transparency levels, says EGX chairman Mohamed Omran.
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has worked between 2013 and 2017 to make information more available to investors, Omran said Sunday in a press conference to review EGX performance over the past four years.
The EGX has been acting to achieve a quantum leap in terms of transparency and governance through legislative and regulatory amendments of the disclosure system, Omran told reporters.
He also touched upon efforts to upgrade skills of disclosure officials through the use of technology that led to a better access to market information.
An electronic disclosure system has been launched to help companies listed on the EGX directly post their reports on trading screens, Omran said.
