Egyptian exports to Tunisia hit $119.2 mln

Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil received a report from the Egyptian trade representation office in Tunisia on trade exchange between the two countries during the first half of 2017.
In a statement issued by the ministry on Monday, the Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Office ( ECS) Ahmed Antar underlined that Egyptian exports to the Tunisian market reached during the first half of the current year 119.2 million dollars with an increase of 29 percent compared to 92.4 million dollars during the first half of last year.
The Egyptian imports from Tunisia decreased during that period by 14.6 percent as it reached 21 million dollars compared to 24.6 million dollars during the first half of 2016.
The Trade and Industry Ministry's first undersecretary said that the most exports that increased to Tunisia are iron, steel, foodstuff and glass.
Qabil will hold during the coming days expanded meetings with the boards of directors of the Export Development Authority and the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Development Authority to follow up the ministry's plan to develop SMEs and promoting exports, the statement read.
