Israeli navy boats Tuesday opened fire on Palestinian fishermen off Deir al Balah and Khan Younis coasts in the Gaza Strip, according to Palestine News Agency (WAFA).
The navy also splashed the fishermen boats with water cannons.
The boats were sailing around four nautical miles off the coast when the Israeli navy attacked them, said the correspondent, forcing the fishermen to return to shore. There were no reports of human casualties.
Israel’s navy regularly attacks fishermen off the Gaza coast, damaging or seizing their boats and sometimes causing death or injuries among them.
The Oslo agreement allows fishermen to go 12 nautical miles off coast, but Israel had unilaterally changed that over the years and allows fishing in only three nautical miles in sea.
