A remarkable increase in detentions has been witnessed in the Palestinian territories
Cairo - Egypt Today

A remarkable increase in detentions has been witnessed in the Palestinian territories during the first half of this year, said the Arab League.
The Israeli government and its executive bodies continue to commit violations against the Palestinian people, according to a report issued by the Palestine and the other occupied Arab territories department at the Arab League.
The report noted that May 2017 witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of detentions, adding that more than 370 Palestinians have been detained, including 50 children, 18 women and girls along with a number of journalists.
The detention of Palestinian children went up during 2015 and 2016, added the report, adding that it increased in the first half of 2017 by 80%.
The Israeli government announced a range of new Israeli settlement projects in the occupied West Bank, added the report.
The report also noted that the rate of building illegal Israeli settlements went up in the West Bank and Al Quds.
There are 600,000 settlers, including 400,000 settlers in the West Bank, the report said, adding that they represent a source of tension to the 2.6 Palestinians in the West Bank and Al Quds, said the report.
