Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Wednesday said Egypt pays due regard to culture as a means to face extremism.
The remarks were made during a ministerial meeting to follow up the implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to establish new cultural entities in a number of locations nationwide, including the New Administrative Capital, New El Alamein city and new Upper Egyptian cities.
An entity shall include an Opera, a Library, a theater and a heritage conservation center, according to the order.
The state is keen on establishing a cultural center in each governorate, Culture Minister Helmy el Namnam said during the meeting.
Egypt also takes into account maintaining and marketing heritage crafts, the minister added.
