Tunis - Hayet al-Ghanami
The titles of a number of institutions under Ministry of Culture are still toping the official website of the ministry, while some of them have disappeared and others are in a state of stagnation waiting for solutions. Any visitor to the official website stands on a group of names of cultural and artistic teams, of which only their names and addresses remained.
Some of them have completely disappeared and no longer have any impact except on this site and others have maintained their headquarters without activity such as the National Cultural Committee, the National Folkloric Ensemble, the Arab Book House, the Cultural Delegations, and other names, but do not have any cultural or artistic activity.
The Information office of Culture Ministry stressed that most of these teams are in the process of renewal after the appointment of new directors, and that a number of them became independent, similar to the National Center for Cinema.
Tareq Awni, a member of a musical group, said that they officially gave up the band, adding that what is being discussed about the renewal of the band has nothing to do with heritage and folk art, but is simply a service of interests in the framework of the so-called project to open the city of culture. He added that two elements were chosen from the band to implement the project, a new idea has nothing to do with the band, saying that this approach will not serve the heritage.
On the other hand, the official responsible for the cultural city project, Mohamed El Hadi El Gueni, said that most of these cultural institutions will be integrated into the city, after its opening, such as the National Folklore and Symphony Orchestra and other cultural and artistic groups and centers that do not have official headquarters.
Most of these teams and centers suffer from unclear headquarters, according to a source from the Ministry of Culture, while new headquarters have been set up and new directors appointed for a number of them.
The Arabic Book House, which has only the name and is currently managed by Ms. Hala Al-Wardi, is also suffering from a number of problems, particularly with regard to the political situation in Libya, which is waiting to settle its status as a common symbol between Tunisia and Libya.
