Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy discussed Thursday in a meeting with Kazakh Ambassador in Cairo Arman Issagaliyev ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of environment protection.
The Environment Ministry is keen to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan in this score, Fahmy said.
Also, the two sides agreed to exchange experience and technology in different environment areas, especially with regard to the energy and the negative impacts of projects on the environment, as well as preparing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on environment protection.
For his part, Issagaliyev asserted that his country is willing to open up new horizons for cooperation with Egypt.
Furthermore, the Kazakh diplomat extended an invitation to Fahmy to participate in Expo 2017, which is expected to kick off in Astana from June 10 and September 10, 2017.
The international exposition will probe means to rationalize energy consumption and the usage the alternative energy.
