The number of Afghan soldiers killed has increased to 140 and at least dozens wounded in the city of Mazar - e - Sharif in northern Afghanistan in an attack on their base. Taliban movement claimed the terrorist attack.
In the result of an attack by Taliban on a military base in the province of Balkh in Northern Afghanistan has killed at least 140 members of the army of this country.
An Afghan official expressed his country's concern about the possibility of increasing the number of deaths due to the presence of critical cases among the injured soldiers.
An Afghan soldier said that gunmen entered the military base on two military vehicles through the first and second gates, and started shooting at soldiers, some of whom were in the mosque and others in the restaurant, killing many of them.
"Number of gunmen were wearing explosive belts, without knowing how to enter such a heavily protected area," he said.
"The attack was planned a month ago, because the base's officials did not receive any warning or information about it," said MP in the Consultative Council of Balkh, Mohammad Hashemi.
He pointed out that the terrorist organizations are trying to cause chaos in Balkh, which is one of the most secure states in Afghanistan, calling to launch a great operation to prevent greater attacks during the summer.
