The Italian Navy managed to rescue 4 Tunisian sailors and remove two other bodies from the water, while the search operations for the missing sailor continue.
A report issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy said the sailors drawn when their fishing boat hit a Greek gas tanker from Panama in the international water Saturday evening, 20 miles from the Italian coasts.
On informed by the accident, the ministry coordinated with National Defense Ministry and communicated with the Italian authorities asking for its help to save the survivors and search for the missing ones. A committee of number of ministries was formed to investigate in the accident and to follow the searching procedures, along with fighting for the rights of the injured Tunisians.
The Foreign Ministry added that, the Tunisian Embassy in Rome and the Tunisian Consulate in Palermo are following the updates of the accident, helping the survived sailors and working to bring the bodies of the deceased to Tunisia as soon as possible.
