Investment Minister and the Chairwoman of the Executive Committee of Tahya Misr Fund Sahar Nasr inspected Thursday the progress made in the development of slums project in Al Assal area, Shubra Masr district, Cairo.
The minister was accompanied by CEO of the fund Mohamed Ashmawy, committee member Ali Gomaa, Deputy of Cairo Governor Mohamed Ayman and Head of the district Mohamed Foad during her inspection.
The development of the slums is financed by the fund, which allocated EGP 91 million to complete the project throughout three phases.
The first and second phases of the project were completed.
The project, which aims to create job opportunities for the young people includes the development of drinking water, waste water treatment, and electricity, among other public services.
The Arab Contractors Company that is responsible for implementing the development of the slums is currently carrying out the third phase of the project, which is expected to be completed in October.
The third phase includes the development of 79 buildings worth EGP 62 million.
At the end of the inspection, the minister handed over 37 units to residents.
She pointed out that the project is being implemented under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
