A farewell ceremony was held in honour of outgoing Bahrain-based UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Director and Representative Dr. Iyad Abumoghli.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) Dr. Mohammed Mubarak bin Daina hosted the event, which was attended by University of Bahrain (UoB) President Dr. Riyadh Hamza, Gulf Petrochemicals Industries Company (GPIC) President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery Ambassadors Dhafer Al-Omran and Tawfik Al Mansour, UNEP and SCE officials.
Dr. Bin. Daina conveyed greetings from His Majesty’s Personal Representative, SCE President Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Deputy President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al-Khalifa to Dr. Abumoghli, hailing his dedicated efforts, during his five-year tenure, and contribution to the success of joint programmes and projects.
Dr. Abumoghli also extended thanks and appreciation to the SCE President, Deputy President and CEO for the good cooperation which contributed to the success of his mission.
Dr. Bin. Daina then presented the outgoing UNEP director and representative with a commemorative memento, wishing him success in his new duties.
