President Sisi was received by Egypt's ambassador Ihab Badawi, embassy staffers and Anba Marc, the general bishop of Paris and North Africa for Catholic Copts.
The president is accompanied by a delegation grouping Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil, Minister of Finance Amr El Garhy, Minister of Planning and Administrative Reform Hala El Saed and Minister of transport Hisham Arafat and head of the general intelligence Khaled Fawzy.
Sisi will meet on Tuesday with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron during Sisi's three-day visit to Paris.
Following their business lunch, the two leaders will hold a press conference after their talks on a host of issues of mutual concern and ways of fostering bilateral ties in the cultural and educational fields, the French presidency has announced.
Also, President Sisi will hold talks with a number of French officials, notably Prime Minister Edouard Philippe and Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
During the visit, Sisi will hold meetings with French Defense Minister Florence Parly and President of the French National Assembly François de Rugy.
The talks are expected to take up the Egyptian government’s efforts to go ahead with the economic reform program in parallel with combating terrorism.
Sisi’s visit to France reflects the two countries’ keenness to continue coordination to resolve crises sweeping across Libya, Iraq, Syria and Yemen, and ways of resuming the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks after the Cairo-brokered reconciliation agreement between the two rival factions Fatah and Hamas, as well as the Gulf crisis with Qatar.
