President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a busy schedule last week that included a number of activities and meetings, most notably attending on Saturday a celebration marking the 75th anniversary of the Alamein battle.
Australia Governor-General Peter Cosgrove attended the anniversary celebration alongside a number of ministers and representatives from 14 countries.
Delivering a speech at the event, Sisi said the Alamein battle anniversary constitutes an impetus for exerting more efforts to realize peace, especially in the Middle East which confronts perilous crises.
The president said the unprecedented crises are posing a threat to security in the region.
Peoples in the Middle East are looking forward to a stable and decent life, he said, urging the international community to exert all needed efforts to meet the peoples' aspirations.
Meanwhile, Cosgrove highlighted the key role of the Alamein battle in the Second World War, lauding Egypt's efforts to realize and maintain peace.
Sisi then accompanied his guests to visit the Alamein military museum after its renovation where the curator expounded all stages of establishing and developing the museum.
