President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday received Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri at the Ittihadiya presidential palace in Cairo.
During their meeting, Sisi and Hariri discussed the latest developments in the region and the situation in Lebanon.
In a phone call with Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun, Sisi discussed with his Lebanese counterpart ways of boosting bilateral ties and the latest political developments in Lebanon.
The two leaders have asserted the importance of maintaining Lebanon’s stability and giving the highest priority to the country’s national interests. Also, they agreed to continue coordination and consultation over the political crisis in Lebanon
Later in the day, Sisi received a phone call from Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the latest developments in Syria. The two leaders agreed to continue consultations and coordination on the overall developments of the situation in the Middle East and stressed the importance of working to restore stability in the region and provide security for their peoples.
