Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had talks on Friday with his Norwegian counterpart Børge Brende on bilateral relations.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York, tackled a host of issues of mutual concern, including the crises in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Sudan.
Cairo's efforts to bring the disputing parties in Libya closer were reviewed during the meeting, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
The stalled peace process in the Middle East also figured high at the meeting in light of Norway's historic role in facilitating talks between the Israeli and the Palestinian sides that culminated in the signing of the 1993 Oslo Accords, said the spokesman.
The top diplomats exchanged views on how to end the current stalemate in the peace negotiations between the Israeli and Palestinian sides, added the spokesman.
